Everyone needs to understand whats going on in Brazil right now
As you might know, the presidential election is happening here. But you don’t understand how serious and dangereous these times are. Theres very high chances that a man named Bolsonaro will win. He is openly FASCIST, and has said that he supports another dictatorship happening.
He is openly anti-lgbt, has said many violent things about gays, including that if parents BEAT their children, they could be “cured from homosexuality”.
He is openly racist, has said that their sons will never date a black woman because their were “raised correctly”, and many other things.
He is openly misogynistic, in an argument with a congresswoman, he said that he wouldn’t RAPE her because she did not DESERVE it.
All of these things were filmed. He has said many other dispicable things. His followers are violent: the election is not even over yet but many groups of his supporters are already harrasing minorities on the streets.
As a lesbian woman, i am scared. I am scared for my life. I am scared for my lgbt friends. I am scared for all of the minorities in Brazil, and all people who are going to die. LGBTs are already killed daily. Black people are killed daily. Women are beaten and raped. These are dark times, and we need support.

People are protesting that we must boycott the film Bohemian Rhapsody because, and I quote, “the trailer erases Mercury’s homosexuality by having him flirt with a woman and whitewashes him!” Which is funny, because these people are basically erasing Freddie Mercury’s bisexuality and his relationship with Mary Austin and whitewashing Rami Malek at the same time in order to back their shitty excuse of an argument.

Hank Green + his friends made a whole YouTube channel dedicated to videos explaining how to vote in every. single. state. None of them are longer than three and a half minutes. Deadlines to register are fast approaching in a lot of places so it’s incredibly important that everyone is well informed about what they need to do in order to exercise their right and make their voice heard. When Minerva gets Head Girl, it crushes Augusta (and maybe Minerva lets up her teasing about the Charms OWL. Maybe. Just a little)
Two words:Quidditch rivalry
I mean they both respect each other deep down, but they’re competitive and extremely skilled, and neither one backs down easily
When they’re paired to practice dueling in DADA they can literally go for hours, and it usually ends in stalemates because the professor just kicks them out
When they hear people are starting to place bets on their fights, they hunt down the gamblers together, and no one ever really feels like crossing them again
Albus Dumbledore once remarked it was fortunate that the Sorting Hat put Minerva in Gryffindor because he didn’t think Hogwarts could survive the two of them working together for long
Just saying if anyone wanted to write me a fic about these two I would be 200% on board
If I remember my best interpretation of the numbers right, Walburgia Black would have *also* been in Minerva’s year, which I think is pretty good justification for interpreting it as not a simple rivalry but a three-way feud.
Hufflepuff House is not sure how they managed to avoid getting drawn into this but they’re not complaining.

No wonder no one remembers Tom Riddle from his school years if everyone was focusing on the rivalry between these 4 witches
