It’s National Honey Bee Day!
Over the last 15 years, reports and studies
have shown a significant drop in the number of bee
colonies that are now vanishing from our gardens.Kimberly Stoner, associate agricultural
scientist with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station in New Haven,
explained that Bombus affinis, the
rusty-patched bumble bee, “disappeared before anyone knew it was gone.”However, today, we want to celebrate the beloved
bee by taking a look at the seven stages of a bee’s work.Image by
