Heey, this is sweet, but you don’t need to become a refugee to live legally in Argentina if you’re Brazilian! It’s the easiest country to move to for Brazilians and the whole process to obtain a DNI (the Argentinian national identity) takes 90 days and you get a 2 year visa, which you can later turn into a permanent residency visa without much trouble. It’s very affordable, we don’t even need to translate the documents thanks to a bilateral agreement and you don’t have to prove you have a job lined up for you or anything. Unless Brazil leaves the Mercosur, there’s no need to go so far as to ask for refuge if you choose Argentina as your destination.

As someone who’s reported alt-right harassment and rhetoric on various
social media sites and been told “there’s nothing here that violates our
TOS,” seeing what RPGnet is doing is a welcome breath of fresh air.
So what do you call Hades being the overbearing lord of the Underworld who also happens to care for baby animals and has a surprising draw to children? A weak man who should be hurting those creatures instead of showing affection all because he needs to be manlier? I call that man who puts his bad boy armor on as a war tactic so no one can know his weaknesses, but is a sweetheart underneath.
And what do you call Heracles being the strong man who carries a club but also happens to be dating the smartest girl in the school because he loves her and will cease to hurt the enemy in favor of forgiving and respects the hell out of women, even going so far as to walk them home at night if they feel scared? A feminine man who should be disrespecting and using women while being a monster on the battlefield over the honorable man all because he needs to be manlier? I call that a strong man who carries his club around to show what he is capable of to keep away those who wish to hurt the ones he loves, but is a female empowering man who respects all of life and does not believe that fighting for what is right will make him a monster.
What do you call Apollo being an adept hunter and known to catch the eye of ladies who also happens to adore his sister, believing in fairness between the sexes, especially in sports, and brings awareness to a deep appreciation of the arts that men can have? A gay man who should be focussed on being the best hunter, shutting out any competition and disregard the arts completely because of how ‘feminine they are known to be? I call that a creative and involved man who proves that anyone can love both sports and arts and be a fair player, acknowledging that women can be just as good as men.
What do you call Hephaestus being the best blacksmith who also happens to be a sweet romantic who falls for the inner person and desires an even deeper friendship, believing that is more powerful than many relationships? A nerd who should be going for women for their looks alone and should use them without any regards for their feelings? I call that a loving man who is willing to get to know someone before he decides if he wants it to go somewhere and is willing to respect a women’s wishes just out of his sheer care for her.
What do you call Dionysus being the guardian of wine and parties, who happens to watch over everyone’s drinks to prevent any tampering and never allows anyone to be assaulted at any of his parties, feeling it is on his conscience and never hooks up with any of his guests for the sheer reason of wanting to know them first and knowing it is wrong second? A wimp who should be hooking up 24/7 at his rate with roofies and easy escapes to cover his tracks, easily the most popular student who everyone would cover for? I call that a real man who won’t take advantage of anyone in a wrong state of mind, who wants a real relationship out of love, not out of the lack of consent.
What do you call Actaeon being the third greatest hunter behind Apollo and Artemis who stands loyally behind them, not jealous but proud of his friend’s achievements and their greatest cheerleader from the sidelines? A follower who simply goes along with the peer pressure and should be fighting for his place on top beside them? I call that a trustworthy friend who is willing to stand by his friends’ side and encourage their accomplishments while working hard on his own.
What do you call Poseidon being the guardian of the seas and the second most powerful being who happened to change his pov on his life and girls and chose friendship over popularity while in the process of becoming a hero and working to win the heart of the woman who he wanted to be with for real? A disappointment who should be choosing his winning over friends any day as he can buy new ones and have any girl he wants without reason? I call that a man who has had a major character development in the right way and is willing to work for the people he loves and wants a loving relationship with his newfound best friend.
Why would you call these men displayed here as anything less than powerful, and all for different reasons? I call these men strong, and anything but weak.

In a big victory for hacker, tinkerers, and the right to repair movement, the US Copyright Office
has ruled some major changes to the legal exemption to the DMCA, making
it far easier for owners to build software tools to hack, modify, and
repair their own devices, as explained by iFixit founder Kyle Wiens.
Under section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright
Act (DMCA), it is “unlawful to circumvent technological measures used to
prevent unauthorized access to copyrighted works.” Because software has
become so integral to all the devices we use — everything from phones
to speakers to even trackers — device manufacturers have long used
section 1201 to prevent owners from taking apart or repairing their own
devices, arguing that breaking the software locks as part of replacing
parts or modifying your gadgets is a violation of that statute.
But as part of that law, citizens are allowed to petition
for exemptions to section 1201 every three years, when the Copyright
Office rules what kind of repairs and software tools are and aren’t
allowed by the law. The final ruling for this cycle was just released
(it goes into effect as law on October 28th), and it enacts broad new
protections for repairing devices.

It’s now legal to unlock new phones, and not just used ones
There’s a general exemption for repairing “smartphones,”
“home appliances,” and “home systems.” Wiens points out that this could
help users legally fix devices like the permanently bricked Revolv home hub by installing new firmware or software.
It’s legal to repair cars, tractors, and other motorized
land vehicles by modifying the software on your own. (This has been an
issue for some time, with tractor company John Deere in particular
making the fairly ludicrous argument that letting users modify software
on the tractors that they own — even in the name of doing legitimate
repair work — could lead to owners hacking the tractors and using them
to pirate music. Yes, really.)
Lastly, it’s legal for other third parties to do these
kinds of repairs on your behalf — so even if you can’t code your way
into fixing a bricked smart home, it’s not illegal to pay someone who
can to do it for you.
There are still some major aspects of 1201 that remain in
place. The Copyright Office didn’t grant exemptions to section 1201 for
game console repairs — meaning you still can’t replace a busted CD
drive on your Xbox or PS4 on your own, since those parts are locked via
software to the specific console for security reasons.
The ruling is also specific for those specific categories
of smartphones, home appliances, home systems, and motorized land
vehicles — so things that don’t fit in those buckets (like planes or
boats) are still protected by the law and can’t be hacked.
Lastly, and most crucially, the Copyright Office’s ruling
still doesn’t allow trafficking in the software tools to circumvent
these kinds of software locks, even in the name of repair. So you can
develop the tools to repair things yourself, and folks can pay you to do
those repairs for them, but you can’t distribute or sell those tools to
others.
Still, it’s a big win for the gadget repair community,
and one that codifies into law the right for you to fix or hack or
repair the things you bought any way you want, regardless of what the
manufacturer says. And as our devices become ever more reliant on
software, that’s a very good thing.
