y’all scream about supporting bi girls right up until they date men

Let me tell y’all exactly why I’m primarily dating men. For the same reasons we make all these fucking memes about wlw not talking to each other. Women don’t approach me. I could be dressed to the gay nines, loudly proclaim how fucking queer I am (because don’t think I’ve completely forgot how many other wlw are adverse to dating women who are also attracted to men for biphobic reasons) and still nothing. And I’m not the only person this happens to. My best friend is way more conventionally attractive than I am (this is not a personal put down, she just is, she’s gorgeous, so am I, but I know my lane) and she doesn’t get talked to by wlw either. And we’ve BOTH tried to initiate contact.

Y’all can’t get salty about us dating men if you don’t try to date us first. Because we WANT TO DATE WOMEN.

I say this every time I argue for raising the minimum wage. I never hear anyone else say it and I’m glad I found this.

If you build your business and your bonus on the backs of others who you don’t pay a living wage you don’t deserve to be in business.

this is making capitalists bleed from the ears keep reblogging it

Since I tend to get into this with people who argue that robots will replace minimum wage workers if they get too expensive, I like to lean into the robot metaphor.

If you have a machine performing a valuable talk for your company, the upkeep of that machine is part of your operating cost. You have to pay to power it, to upgrade it, to fix it when it breaks. And if you can’t afford the machine, the manufacturer doesn’t have to do business with you. They’re free to take their service somewhere else where they think the price is fair.

For humans, a living wage is the operating cost. If you can’t afford to pay your worker enough to live nearby, feed themselves, and get basic health care – all of which are things they need in order to be able to work for you – you’re failing to pay for the cost of their service.

The difference is that humans have to eat, like, all the time, so they often don’t have the option of taking their business somewhere else if the price isn’t fair – even insufficient food and shelter is better then starving on the street. But that means those people are not really able to act as agents in a free market, and it’s easy to exploit them under the guise of “the market setting the price.” People can’t act like reasonable economic agents when they’re desperate. As for as I can tell, that’s the whole point of having a minimum wage.

Keep reblogging this, it’s making capitalists mad and reaching out to the working class

People who earn a below-living wage rely on government subsidy programmes, just to live so that they can go back to their underpaid job the next day.

Let me rephrase that: business that pay a below-living wage are relying on government subsidies to maintain their workforce. This is corporate welfare: if you oppose government handouts and pay a below-living wage, then you are a hypocrite and a freeloader.

I don’t want to disappear without a forewarning.

As of July 4th 2018, the Internet as we know it might be dead for good.

The European Parliament is passing a new Copyright Directive.
Article 13 #CensorshipMachine will impose widespread censorship of all the content we share online. Art, fanfiction, parodies, remixes, mashups, memes, etc.. Anything that you do not hold the rights over will be taken down.

Article 13 would force all online platforms to police and prevent the uploading of copyrighted content, or make people seek the correct licenses to post that content. Internet platforms hosting large amounts of user-uploaded content must monitor user behaviour and filter their contributions to identify and prevent copyright infringement.

Such filters will be mandatory for platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit and Instagram, but also much smaller websites.

This doesn’t just affect Europe. The content creators you love are going to be in hot water for sharing their art and writing with you online. Any and all content that doesn’t belong to us will be filtered. Even memes are at risk, as the person who took the original photo may want to file complaints against any platform that allows it to be used without permission. But it goes even further than that.

Last Tuesday (19th June 2018) a group of more than 70 people who have played important roles in building the internet and developing it (Tim Berners-Lee, Vincent Cerf,

Jimmy Wales, Mitchell Baker…) into what it is today addressed an open letter to the members of the European Parliament:

“As creators ourselves, we share the concern that there should be a fair distribution of revenues from the online use of copyright works, that benefits creators, publishers, and platforms alike.

But Article 13 is not the right way to achieve this. By requiring Internet platforms to perform automatic filtering all of the content that their users upload, Article 13 takes an unprecedented step towards the transformation of the Internet from an open platform for sharing and innovation, into a tool for the automated surveillance and control of its users. […] The damage that this may do to the free and open Internet as we know it is hard to predict, but in our opinions could be substantial.”

Here is the original Article 13. It’s even scarier. / Link 2

Here is how to contact your MEPs.

Here is a full list of everything that will be affected.

Europe is facing a huge problem, and unlike with Net Neutrality, the world doesn’t seem to care.

trxnquilmage:

you know i hate tumblrs “i hope they do something problematic” shit so much? its not only with people like thomas sanders or john mulaney or that comic guy with the bike, but with whole ass shows and projects? like nobody ever said b99 is cop propaganda. nobody was saying that until one single person mentioned it and suddenly its the worst show you could watch because of one aspect of their show, while ignoring the shows diversity and political stances.

same happened to dream daddy, like you cant deny that that game was groundbreaking for the lgbt society, but suddlenly some people started shit like ‘uhhh but 5 years ago the game grumps made transphobic jokes’ and ‘you know that joesph is actually a satanist, right?’ and suddenly no one talked about the game anymore?

everytime someone tries their fucking best to be inclusive, diverse etc. people are digging through everything they can find just to justify that they dont like it? overwatch recently hosted a huge event to raise money for breast cancer research in association with the BCRF and without even doing one second of research people accused them of working with the susan g. komen foundation (which wasnt true) and tried to boycott a fucking charity event?

what im saying is, dont let tumblr ruin everything you love because they are bitter

everyone: has probably gotten over infinity war

me: still thinking about how so many asgardian civilians were killed with so little regard and how a mass slaughter of refugees is really inappropriate in this political climate, and not to mention they already suffered through so much in the past few days (the destruction of their homeland, the deaths of those that couldn’t reach heimdall), and the optimism they held in making a new home on earth is completely destroyed

How has not A SINGLE ARTICLE yammering about Thanos not mentioned that he breaks his own pitch in THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES. How does nobody in THE MOVIE mention it??

Asgard just lost their whole planet and over 99% of the population. Thanos kills half of the refugees??? HELLO????

Thanos should have shook them down for the Stone and let em go. That would have been interesting!! But no, Russos just really wanted to be Dark™ no matter what, like how does anybody address anything Thanos says with any seriousness at all after that. Even NOT going into how the wealthy kill the planet and anything even INVITING overpopulation as an issue is ignorant and tone deaf, like, “is Thanos full of shit” is done immediately. First shot, it’s over. “he just really believes half the popul–” THERE WERE FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVEN ASGARDIANS LEFT, CARL

my GOD i didn’t even consider it from this angle, this is such a good addition

LIKE, HELLO??? an ENTIRE PLANET is basically reduced to this many people. with the beginning of iw + the snap, the population is a QUARTER of this.

god it’s just so frustrating that right after the movie that humanized the nameless civilians, we get this. and we KNOW these are all civilians, since literally all the soldiers are killed directly by hela.
